I am Ustaadhah Safia and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Year 4 teacher. I have a vast amount of experience working with children of all ages in both a teaching role and in a mentoring role. I have graduated with a BSc in Psychology and am a passionate individual who strives for the best in her students. I look forward to continuing my work with the children. |Topics||Learning based on themes have been academically acclaimed and will continue this year as the students enjoy this so much. We will be looking into World War 2 and Tropical Rainforests. Please be aware the Tarbiyah Link will always be incorporated at all times so we can critically examine the Islamic perspectives.|
We will be working with the new curriculum and will cover step by step approach to fractions, data manipulation and effective techniques for numerical calculations. Topics covered include Addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Also graph work, coordinates and measurement.

|Trips||Two trips we are planning relate to the themes which we hope to cover… A trek into a local wood will help us better understand Rainforests and how trees and eco systems operate. Also a journey to the local museum will help us shed light on how our predecessors coped with difficult war scenarios.|
|P.E.||We will cover a wider range of activities including swimming, football, cricket, dodgeball, tennis and martial arts. From my experience of working with a PE department we will look to develop key skills through focused coaching, introducing the sport progressively.|
|Homework||I am a great believer that working independently at home is critical to develop the learner. It not only consolidates learning but ensures a hardworking ethos. I aim to give homework daily but not too much. We all know the hadith where we are advised the best of actions is that which is consistent even if it be little|
