March 8th Return to School

Assalamu Aleykum Waratullahi Wabarakatu Parents and Carers,

As I’m sure you have all heard by now, primary schools in England are returning on Monday 8th March. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the children back to school, as we have missed them all so much, and we hope the transition will be a smooth one.
The DfE have produced updated guidelines for schools, which we are working through carefully, and we will be updating our Risk Assessment accordingly.

The most important measures we have in place are:

*Children wash their hands more often (or use hand sanitiser),
*The children follow the ‘Catch It, Bin It’ guidance if they use a tissue,
*The school is well ventilated,
*The children remain in year group bubbles at all times, both inside the school and in the playground.
*Children with any symptoms of COVID are kept away from other children, and parents contacted immediately.

We can manage all these measures on-site. Where we need your help is at the beginning and the end of the day. As essential as ever, all adults must wear a facemask and socially distance in the playground. We will not allow adults without a facemask to come onto the school premises.
The times of the day will remain the same.
• In the morning, the gates will open at 7.55 am and close at 8.05 am. Any child arriving after this time will be marked in as late.
• The gates will open at 3.10 pm and close at 3.15 pm at the end of the day. We have a one-way system as before, and as you walk; you wave to your child. We need to avoid overcrowding and congestion at any cost. ALL children must be collected by 3.15 pm, so please don’t be late.
The guidance from the Government is that primary school children will NOT be tested for COVID-19. If this guidance changes, which I very much doubt it will, you will be informed, and no child would ever be tested without your consent.
On Monday 8th March, we would like to see all children back at school, in full uniform, ready to learn! I am sure you want them back as much as we do. All school resources, guided reading books, whiteboards and laptops, must be returned to the school office by Friday 12th March 2021.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our families for your incredible support throughout these extremely challenging times. Although remote learning is in no way ideal, you have helped your children incredibly well to continue to learn and make progress. Once we are back, let’s continue to work together to ensure every child can successfully achieve and reach their full potential.

If you have any questions, please call the office.
